FAQ
Why use a Matcha Weight Charm instead of a regular sifting ball?
Traditional sifting balls are designed solely for function. Yotsuba Matcha Weight Charms offer the same purpose while adding personality and enjoyment to the preparation process. We believe even the smallest tools can become something worth appreciating.
Why are the Matcha Weight Charms made with 316 medical grade stainless steel?
316 stainless steel offers greater corrosion resistance and durability, making it especially well suited for repeated contact with water and daily use. We chose it because it's a material designed to last.
Will the Matcha Weight Charms fit in my matcha sieve?
Yes. Our Matcha Weight Charms are designed to fit most standard matcha sieves (chakoshi). If you use an unusually small sieve, please refer to the product dimensions before purchasing.
Can I use more than one Matcha Weight Charm at a time?
Absolutely. While one charm is all that's needed, using two or three together adds a little extra weight and movement while sifting. Many customers also enjoy mixing different designs.
Does the design affect how it sifts?
All of our designs are carefully developed to perform the same core function. While each charm has its own unique appearance, they are all designed to help break up matcha clumps and create a finer, more even sift.
Do I have to wash the Matcha Weight Charms before use?
Yes. We recommend washing your Matcha Weight Charms with warm water and a mild soap before first use, then drying them thoroughly before storing.
How should I store the Matcha Weight Charms?
After use, rinse, dry thoroughly, and store them in a clean, dry place. Keeping them dry between uses will help preserve their finish for years to come.
Are the Matcha Weight Charms food safe?
Yes. Every Yotsuba Matcha Weight Charm is crafted from food-safe 316 stainless steel, a material widely used in food preparation, kitchenware and even surgical equipment.
